Rapists To Be Castrated In Osun State

Word out is that the Osun state government has sent a bill to the state assembly, seeking to castrate men found guilty of rape in the state.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Mofolake Adegboyega said that stringent penalty like cutting off of their “third leg’’ will be appropriate for their offence.
She said the Violence Against Women & Children Bill was aimed at cutting down cases of molestation and abuse in Osun State.
She expressed shock at the rapidly growing trend of violence against minors in the state and said a way of reversing the trend is the bill currently in review by the House of Assembly.
Mrs Adegboyega who cited Saudi Arabia, where legs of culprits are cut off for serious offences, said that it wouldn’t be too much to impose harsh punishment for tough crime.
